Dear friends,

How are you?  Time really flies. I just finished my first year of study at DTS and will have finished 4 out of the 5 required Greek classes by August 8th.  It is really challenging to take 2 intensive language classes in Summer but I am glad I already finished one of them and 2 weeks later the 2nd one would also be done.  Now I can read the New Testament in Greek with help of a lexicon.

Nina and I feel very excited about visiting our friends in California on August 9th (all summer classes end on August 8th) and we will spend one week there after attending a wedding on the 9th.

Please go to My Photo Album Recent section on the left to view some of our most recent photos.

During the past semester, I had opportunities to know some international students from China in UT Dallas.  I've also been teaching English in a Chinese Community Center.  Nina and I would visit my friends from UT Dallas and my English students in our spare time.  Knowing one student means knowing the family members and friends of the student.  I really enjoy the friendship with them and hope our friendship would grow and that we can learn from one another.  The least and the best we can share with them is the Gospel, the Good News that brings hope and love to their lives.

I am also involved in Bible study in church applying many practical skills I learned in seminary

I started keeping a prayer diary and saw one after another prayer being answered in my prayer diary.  This strengthens my faith in God and would be the best thing I can give to my kids in the future.

As for Nina, she is grateful to God for her part-time job which allows her more free time.  She also volunteers to teach English in a Chinese Senior Center.  She enjoys learning to play the guitar very much and has led singspiration in church fellowship meetings.  She just started teaching some friends playing guitar the past weekend.  She is learning to lead Bible study in fellowship as well.

Since our moved to Dallas, we have been able to visit Nina's parents in Houston more often.  In March, we also visited my mom and brother in Vancouver.

It's been a fulfilling year.

We look forward to seeing some of you in California.

May God bless you and your family.

In the Lord
Nina & Johnny
