Dear friends and family, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We give thanks to God for his provisions and protection over the past year. We would like to share with you some of our highlights from 2010 in both pictures and words. In August we moved to ...Houston to be closer to Nina's family. It's been 20 years since she left home for college and she felt burdened to spend more time with her family. We're grateful to God for bringing us to serve at Katy Christian Community Church . It's an honor to serve Him and we feel loved and supported by our brothers and sisters. Nina works part-time. She is about to finish a 4-month course on bass/acoustic guitar and hopes to put her new training to good use. She enjoys her new spiritual home very much and looks forward to teaching Sunday school. In September Johnny went on his 3rd mission trip to the Philippines . Besides equipping local ministers and believers, he also taught Tae Kwon Do and shared the Gospel with students at 2 local schools. It was a unique ministry opportunity for him to combine his passion for Christ and martial arts. As for travel, we visited Johnny's family in Vancouver and Los Angeles for our friends' wedding. It was a precious experience for us to attend a wedding as bridesmaid and best man for the first time. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. May your holiday season be filled with joy and peace! In Him, Nina & Johnny

Thanks for the encouragement Brother! That's definitely a possibility although I've retired for many years from armwrestling matches before this. Nina wants me to have a rematch with the undisputed champion Josh as well. But the defeat d...efinitely helps me to be better.

Here are the possible reasons for the loss: (1) Since Josh is the undisputed champion for years, I was requested to armwrestle with James (the brother in orange T-shirt behind Josh) 1st with my right arm. I felt that made sense. But James' right-arm strength was close to Josh's and I was worn out although I won that match about 5 minutes before this match. (2) Using right arm on my side of the table corner was awkward. (3) My arm was too far from my body and my elbow was further pulled forward by Josh's power when his elbow moved backward. A referee who knows the professional rules would have restarted the match at the original position. (4) I was still recovering from a right wrist injury from my Shaoling Kung Fu sparring. (5) No clear rules were set and I was distracted by the sisters who felt my leaning of the body was illegal move which was not when I checked out professional armwrestling matches which only requires fixed position of the elbow of the wrestling hand and with the other hand holding to a rod that enhances the strength.

It will be cool to have a professional armwrestling board which would produce fairer matches and lower chance of injury as well.

Mau Kwan Tang arm-wrestling at its best involves the use of coordinated strength of the whole body exerted at the arm, wrist and shoulder. John Brzenk ranked #1 in North America in 2008. There is much that can be learned from a good arm-wrestler.

Mau Kwan Tang enjoyed running for 2 miles on Surfside Beach beach at sunrise. God is amazing to have created the ocean, the beach, the Sun, the seagulls, and above all God created humans to enjoy and take care of his wonderful creation. Even more amazing is that God is willing to send HIS own son Jesus Christ to die for their sins... in their place. If Jesus didn't die for our sins, all would end up in hell.

LK 18:35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."

LK 18:38 He called out, "Jesus, Son... of David, have mercy on me!"

LK 18:39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

LK 18:40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 "What do you want me to do for you?"

"Lord, I want to see," he replied.

LK 18:42 Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you." 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Mau Kwan Tang Wealth can be a big obstacle to receiving and experiencing eternal life with God because wealth often produces pride, a false sense of security in the owner and holding onto wealth as if it were God. As a result, the owner of wealth would not see the need for God or not be willing to let go of the wealth in order to r...eceive eternal life with God and experience eternal life with God on a deeper level.

LK 18:18 A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

LK 18:19 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: `Do not commit adultery, do not ...murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.' "

LK 18:21 "All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said.

LK 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

LK 18:23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth. 24 Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

LK 18:26 Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?"

LK 18:27 Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."

LK 18:28 Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!"

LK 18:29 "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life." -- NIV

LK 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3 And there was a widow in that town who ...kept coming to him with the plea, `Grant me justice against my adversary.'

LK 18:4 "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, `Even though I don't fear God or care about men, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "

LK 18:6 And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" NIV

      Merry Christmas Byron!

For those nobody knows about the injustice they are facing, the all-knowing, all-powerful and all-loving God is their justice and help. God sends just people to help the weak persecuted by the unjust. God does allo...w injustice caused by people to happen in order that people would seek God's help and be delivered into God's eternal and just Kingdom.

God is not judging all injustice now and immediately because there is nobody who is truly just. If God judges the world with HIS perfect justice, all people would perish immediately except those who are viewed as just because they depended upon the truly just Son of God Jesus Christ's infinitely valuable substitutional death for their injustice.

When one person needs to pay a fine for violating law but is not able and needs to be put into jail, another innocent person pays for the guilty, the guilty person''s penalty is paid for and can be set free.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. NIV

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. NIV

God does use people to bring immediate justice too.

When pioneer Christian missionary to India William Carey went to India to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ, he saw widows being burned alive with their dead husbands. He fought tirelessly till finally a law was passed to forbid this kind of injustice.

Many Christian missionaries lost their lives to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with violent peoples in the world. Their death helped these violent people see the sacrificial love of God through Jesus Christ. They believed in Jesus Christ and learned about the value of human lives and stopped killing one another.

Today, many Christians in all parts of the world are still fighting for justice with their love and sacrifice and delivering the Gospel that has power to save and change people's unjust hearts and unjust lives.

But God would finally judge with perfect justice all who are unjust at the end of times.

As we are approaching the end of 2010, we are one year closer to judgment day.

Pray that you will be free from such judgment and we can be eternal brothers in Christ forever! This is my Christmas wish.

Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot's wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."

Mau Kwan Tang Most people seek God when in trouble but forget God when they are well and miss the best blessing of all -- God's presence and God himself. A thankful heart made the very few people powerful instruments in God's hands to bring more blessings to them and others.

LK 17:11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Maste...r, have pity on us!"

LK 17:14 When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

LK 17:15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan.

LK 17:17 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

    • Susan Hou Agree with you. My dad passed away two weeks ago. Although it was very sad as I missed him so much, I have to thank God for giving him 10 more years to enjoy the time with us. May he rest in peace. Funeral will be next monday and tuesday in HK.

    • Mau Kwan Tang Sorry to hear about this. I just prayed for peace and comfort to you, Michael and your family and travel mercy. May the hope of seeing our loved ones in heaven later restore our joy in times like this.

Mau Kwan Tang God is constantly at work to help the lost find their way back home. HE and the angels rejoice in the lost being found. Those who were lost but are found should be willing to be instruments in God's hands to get the lost back home and share the joy of seeing the lost found.

Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." They had a personal relationship with God—a relationship born of faith in the work of Jesus on the cross. As a result, they became children of the King—eager to sacrifice everything for the privilege of proclaiming Him. They were not limping along looking for something to hold them up." -- http://odb.org/2010/12/01/ a-crutch/
